Meredith Kirk joins staff of Dustin Johnson Golf School

Heralded golf instructor Meredith Kirk of Murrells Inlet has been named the Lead Instructor at the Dustin Johnson Golf School at the TPC Myrtle Beach and will join the staff of Director of Coaching/Managing Partner Allen Terrell on Jan.

She was ranked third among the top instructors in South Carolina for 2015-16 by Golf Digest, which polls thousands of teaching pros across the country for the ranking, and was named one of the 40 “Best Young Teachers (under 40) in America” for 2014-15 by Golf Digest.

Kirk was named by Golf Magazine one of seven “Innovators” in golf for 2015 for the creation of the Junior Golf Exchange, a non-profit organization that helps children under the age of 14 receive fitted golf equipment at no cost.

Kirk is a spokesperson/ambassador for Myrtle Beach golf and Founders Group International, which owns and operates 22 Grand Strand courses including the TPC.

Registration has begun for the 2016 National Father & Son Team Classic, which is part of the Family Golf Week tournament experience on the Grand Strand.

The 19th annual National Father-Son Team Classic will be played July 20-23 and host courses include the King’s North Course at Myrtle Beach National, Thistle Golf Club, Rivers Edge Golf Club, Grande Dunes Resort Course, Barefoot Resort Love Course, Prestwick Country Club, Legends Resort Heathland Course and Panther’s Run Golf Links.

The entry fee of $995 includes three tournament rounds, daily lunch at the course, a family golf outing that will include skills contests and demo alley, a post-tournament awards banquet catered by Logan’s Roadhouse, and a gift package that includes a $200 team gift card to PGA Tour Superstore, shirt, headwear and sleeve of logo balls.
