Chip fracture in right wrist

The Yankees have been blessed with good health for most of the spring, but those fortunes took a turn on Wednesday afternoon when lefty reliever Andrew Miller was hit on the right wrist by a line drive.

Right-hander Dellin Betances said that he spoke to Miller in the clubhouse shortly after the injury.

“Any time you get a line drive, right away I don’t think it’s going to feel good,” Betances said.

If Miller is unavailable for a significant stretch of time, Betances will be asked to pick up save opportunities, something he did last season when Miller was on the disabled list from June 10 to July 8 with a left flexor forearm muscle strain.
