Lambeth scores first win of the season

Addison Lambeth of Browns Summit, a senior golfer at top-ranked Huntingdon College, scored his first win of the spring season this week at his team’s home tournament, the Wynlakes Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Ala.

Lambeth was the runner-up at last year’s NCAA Division III Championships and won the D-III Jack Nicklaus Award as player of the year.

He is in the midst of another fine year, leading all Division III players with a 70.94 scoring average and 73 birdies in 18 rounds.

His 134 score is the second-best in school history, one shot behind a 133 Lambeth shot last spring.

7 Greensboro shot 5-over and tied for 16th place, leading the Pride to an eighth place finish in the 15-team tournament.

He is the son of Luke and Debra Lambeth, who own Crooked Tree Golf Course in Browns Summit and run Pleasant Ridge Golf Course in Greensboro.

Scott Harvey of Greensboro, the nation’s top-ranked mid-amateur player and six-time CGA player of the year, leads an amateur team that also includes Dustin Moore of Greensboro and Josh Nichols of Kernersville.

Teaching pros Chris Haarlow of Greensboro (Precision Golf School) and Savio Nazareth of Kernersville (Starmount Forest Country Club) are on the pro team.
