LeBron James searching for right coaching partner, like so many NBA superstars

Larry Brown satisfied Allen Iverson in Philadelphia for six years the way three other fired 76ers coaches couldn’t.

Now James has been around for the firing of three coaches in his 13 NBA seasons, his closest thing to a muse his four-year Miami hookup with Erik Spoelstra, who won two titles with James and kept his job.

Don Nelson resigned as coach but stayed with the organization, Avery Johnson is his one fired coach after getting three full years and now Rick Carlisle is in year eight.

That ties him with Jordan and Iverson in the fired coach rankings, puts him one behind Bryant and Jason Kidd and two behind the mercurial Dwight Howard.

Previously, with those two rings in Miami and the firings of Paul Silas in the middle of his second season in 2005 and Mike Brown after five seasons in 2010, James was even on his titles-to-firings ledger.
