Matosevic labelled Wimbledon danger man

MARINKO Matosevic has been endorsed as a Wimbledon danger man after injury and an inspired Stan Wawrinka terminated the bullocking Victorian’s run at the AEGON Championship.

Matosevic left Queen’s Club with the scalps of Australian Open finalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and grand slam semi-finalist Marin Cilic after reaching the quarter-finals.

Stopped 7-5 6-3 by Australian Open champion Stan Wawrinka, Matosevic declared “my game is pretty much where I want it to be” ahead of Wimbledon in eight days.

“He’s (Matosevic) a tough player to play,” Wawrinka said.

Radek Stepanek continued an unlikely run after recovering from a sluggish start to down South African Kevin Anderson 1-6 6-3 6-2 in sweltering conditions.
