Michigan State’s Lawrence Thomas looks to make lasting impression in Senior Bowl

Thomas is one of three players on the North team who will represent Michigan State against the South team in the college all-star game, which kicks off at 2:30 p.m.

“I’ll be playing more defensive end in this game,” Thomas said on Friday, after a week of showing his skills to the hundreds of NFL personnel at hand for the practices.

Thomas has been one of defensive line coach Ron Burton’s best students at Michigan State, using his tremendous quickness off the snap and athleticism to take on some of the top offensive linemen in the nation and hold his gap.

Thomas was the most productive defensive lineman in the Spartans’ 17-14 win at Ohio State this season according to the MSU coaches’ points system in a game that saw the Buckeyes held to 132 total yards and just five first downs.
