Miniature golf park meets goal

Better than colorful golf balls rolling into holes is that Play Faire Park on Wednesday now is rolling in the dough.

The local miniature golf course and entertainment venue was successful in its Kickstarter online fund-raising effort, totaling $36,720 by Tuesday’s midnight deadline.

This was an all-or-nothing project the designated amount had to be raised in a month’s time or the project received no funding at all.

The $35,000 goal was set with three major projects in mind upgrading lighting and constructing both an outdoor play museum and a vendor shop.

England can’t wait to start on the upgrades at the park at 2300 N.

Tuesday began with the project amount above $23,000 a tidy sum but only about two-thirds of the way toward the goal.

What really pleased England was that donations Tuesday ranged in all amounts, meaning people were buying into the project and it wasn’t supported by just a few folks with bigger bank accounts.

The park will open for the season March 10, timed for the local school spring break.
