NFL Free Agents

In terms of comparable contracts from free agency a year ago, Anthony Fasano was coming off a 41-reception season in Miami and signed a four-year, $16 million contract with Kansas City, including $4.5 million in guaranteed money.

The Eagles signed James Casey, who caught 34 passes for 33 yards and three touchdowns for the Texans in 2012, to a three-year, $14.5 million deal, a little more than $4 million of which was guaranteed.

While many teams no longer place a premium on the running back position, instead using several backs to shoulder the load, this could end up being a pretty good year for free agent backs.

Moreno, who ran the ball 241 times for 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns, while catching 60 passes for 548 yards and three touchdowns, might fit into that category, with the Broncos apparently ready to hand the starting job to Montee Ball, a second-rounder in last year’s draft.

A year ago, Reggie Bush who accounted for more than 2,600 yards of offense over the previous two seasons in Miami inked a four-year, $14 million deal with Detroit, including $5 million guaranteed.

After rushing for 1,063 yards and 8 touchdowns for the Jets in 2012, Shonn Greene signed a contract with Tennessee worth $10 million over three years, with $4.5 million guaranteed.
