Reservoir boys soccer wins against Glenelg, 2-0

Reservoir senior Jonny Tshibadi couldn’t help but dance after he scored with 13 minutes, 25 seconds left in the first half of Thursday’s home game against Glenelg.

The goal allowed the Gators to settle down and stop pressing, and the second goal from junior captain Rudy Ventura put an exclamation point on what turned out to be a 2-0 victory and kept Reservoir unbeaten at 3-0-1.

“It gets very frustrating because we had a problem scoring goals last year, too, so to get that goal and get a breakthrough, it was a sense of relief not only for me but the guys,” said Gators coach Jason Hall.

Reservoir commanded the ball through the first 20 minutes but it was Glenelg with the first serious scoring threat.

The Gators sent ball after ball through the wings, especially on the right side, and it eventually resulted in their first goal as freshman Glen Lee sent a ball into the left side of the box and onto Tshibadi’s right foot.
