Greeley West girls soccer coach
That’s how Greeley West coach Mike Lordemann feels, at least.
But after 29 years of coaching at the same school, Lordemann decided it’s the right time for him to step away.
Lordemann, who has spent his whole coaching career as a Spartan, will retire as the girls soccer coach at the end of the season.
Lordemann, 49, is a 1985 graduate of West, and he began coaching as an assistant for the boys soccer and boys basketball teams in 1988.
He eventually stepped in as head coach for boys soccer, and in 2002, he added onto his duties as he began coaching the girls soccer team, as well.
Mike’s twin brother, Marty, who is heading into his sixth season as the West boys soccer coach, said he has learned a lot from Mike about coaching over the years.
Mike said he has been so fortunate to coach at West for his entire career, and a few things will stick with him about his experiences at the school, such as the athletes, the parents and the administration.
And they’ve all been supportive and allowed me, as a coach, to coach in the manner I coached.
