Thompson sparkles as Warriors overpower Blazers
Klay Thompson scored 27 points as the Golden State Warriors staged a fourth quarter fightback to defeat the Portland Trail Blazers 110-99 and take a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference semi-final series on Tuesday.
The reigning champion Warriors were caught cold in the first quarter after Portland raced into a double-digit lead, holding a 34-21 advantage heading into the second quarter.
Draymond Green added 17 points with 14 rebounds and seven assists while Andre Iguodala added 15 points from the bench.
Warriors coach Steve Kerr praised the contribution of backup center Festus Ezeli and Green in the fourth quarter defensive effort.
