Bullock’s time to shine for Pistons with Meeks out
Jodie Meeks’ misfortune is Reggie Bullock’s opportunity.
On the day it was announced that Meeks would miss most of the regular season after surgery for a right foot fracture, Detroit Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy reaffirmed his faith in Bullock, who will assume the back-up shooting guard spot in the playing rotation.
After receiving scant playing time in previous stops with the Clippers and the Suns, Bullock is ready for the opportunity.
“A player went down and it’s time for the whole team, not just myself, to step up for a player that went down which is why I just got to go out and play hard,” Bullock said.
Bullock made his comments shortly before the Pistons announced that Meeks had surgery Thursday night to repair a non-displaced fracture of the fifth metatarsal in his right foot.
Van Gundy said he talked to Meeks before the surgery.
