Considerations for a Bicycling Tour
Experiencing a journey from atop a bicycle can be an incredible way to see the world around you without the hindrance of glass between you and the road. Before you sign up for the next tour you come across, however, there are a few considerations to mark off your checklist. Take note of the following before pedaling away.
Training is a must to ensure you not only have the stamina to make it to your final destination, but to also protect yourself from a plethora of injuries that can plague you on such a trek. Spend time ramping up your riding to the point that you are cycling three or four days each week for a few months. Include cardio and strength training into your regimen to ensure your entire body is ready for the trip. Understand the amount of fluids that are imperative to keep you from suffering from dehydration and learn about nutrition necessary for this particular type of activity. Proper meals and snacks are important to stave off fatigue as well as empowering and protecting your body.
Cycling equipment may seem like a no-brainer, but this list can include items that aren’t on your initial radar. Depending on whether you are planning on a guided tour or self-supported tour, you may have extensive gear, equipment and tools that need to be included.
