Huddersfield have been the surprise of the Premier League this season and for more than just one reason. Whilst they currently sit in 15th, safe from the immediate fear of relegation, and this in itself is pretty astounding for a club that is one of the smallest in the league, they’ve achieved this by using a completely new way of conducting their transfers. Rather than going by the tried and trusted route of buying established campaigners in the league they’ve branched out further afield and have been doing some business that’s been raising eyebrows. Many of the players they’ve signed during the transfer window weren’t just obscure to casual football fans but seasoned scouts would have had trouble working out who they’d bought.
