How Much Would Francisco Lindor or Corey Kluber Cost?

The Cleveland Indians are looking to trim payroll and they’ve been listening to offers on shortstop Francisco Lindor, who is two seasons away from free agency.

That prediction was no guarantee, of course, but it’s a clear sign that the reports are true that the Indians won’t trade the face of their franchise unless some team blows them away with an offer.

There’s no way the Yankees would do that deal, but the Indians are free to set whatever outrageous price that they want on Lindor.

Because it’s so high, it’s apparent the Indians aren’t desperate to trade Lindor.

Happ, who will make $17 million in 2020 and has a $17 million vesting option for 2021.

No matter, the Indians surely prefer to deal first baseman Carlos Santana, who will make $17.5 million next year and has a $17.5 million club option or $500,000 buyout for 2021.
