If Heat fail to three-peat

James has been so exceptional over these past three years he can no longer accept blame for anything that goes wrong with the Heat.

The Heat have used James this season like baseball managers used to do to pitchers in the old days, running them out every other day to go 9 innings until their arms fell off.

While Coach Spoelstra rested Dwyane Wade every third game, James was out there every single night in his 11th NBA season, not only running the team’s offense but also defending the other team’s best player.

James accomplished this after three straight trips to the NBA Finals, which is so many added games it’s like he played an entire additional NBA season over the past four years.

The point is this: If the Spurs manage to put together four brilliant games and beat the Heat this NBA Finals (which I think they will I predict Spurs in 7) I will not tolerate listening to one single TV pundit saying it was LeBron James’ fault the Heat didn’t manage the three-peat.

If the Heat don’t manage to three-peat, it won’t be because LeBron James was insufficient.

If the Heat do manage to three-peat, though, James deserves all the acclaim you can throw at him.
