Juventus opens its first MidEast soccer school in Dubai
Italian football club Juventus has opened the first soccer school in the Middle East in Dubai, the WAM news agency reported.
The Dubai branch of the Juventus Soccer Schools (JSS) is a collaboration between Club 5, a leading sports management company and the Dubai Sports Council (DSC), with the project being announced at a special ceremony held this week at InterContinental Festival City, Dubai.
“This project keeps pace with the comprehensive revival in Dubai to remain a leader and a pioneer in all fields. It also comes in line with DSC’s vision which calls for the setting up of a distinguished sporting community,” said Dr. Ahmad Al Sharif, Secretary General of DSC.
“The opening of the first branch of this School in Dubai comes to confirm our strategic and strong partnership with Juventus Soccer School,” said Abdullah Al Bishr, CEO of Club 5.
“In addition, there are many common goals between both parties, such as encouraging sports among for all. The School’s programme doesn’t just focus on focus on football, it also offers advice about fitness, discipline and nutrition,” he added.
Juventus Football Club was established in 1897 and is considered one of the most successful clubs in Italian football history. It has won 53 cups in official meetings, including 42 local cups and 11 continental and global cups. The club was the first Italian side to have won the UEFA Cup and in 1985, Juventus became the first team in the world to have won all official international cups and championships.
Throughout its long history, the club has opened numerous soccer schools across the globe, where thousands of youngsters join to get high quality training. The Dubai branch will be open to youths of all nationalities from 5-17 years of age, boys and girls.
The club runs soccer schools in 12 countries around the world, including USA, Spain, Venezuela, Mexico, Egypt, Kenya, Greece, Germany and Poland. It also organises training camps in 13 countries, such as Australia, the Netherlands, Chile, Austria, Belgium, France, Switzerland, Germany, USA and Greece.
