Kasatkina vs. McHale

On Tuesday, Daria Kasatkina and Christina McHale will meet in the second round of the Volvo Car Open in Charleston.

Last year, the Russian defeated eventual French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko, 6-3, 6-1, to earn her first title at the WTA level.

The 20-year-old has already reached the final at both the Dubai Tennis Championships and the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells this year, and while she was unable to earn a title at either of those events, her versatile and powerful game has put the rest of the tennis world on notice.

She faced McHale in the second round of last year’s US Open and won that match, 7-5, 6-3.
