Kevin Norwood has a reserved contract with the Giants.
Wide receiver Kevin Norwood has been to two Super Bowls, but he’s still striving to make his mark in the NFL.
Norwood joined the NFL as a fourth-round choice of the Seattle Seahawks in the 2014 NFL Draft after playing in the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
Norwood caught nine passes in nine games as a rookie as the Seahawks went to Super Bowl XLIX, where they lost to the New England Patriots 28-24.
An injury in Carolina’s final preseason game derailed Norwood’s third NFL season.
Released by Carolina in October, Norwood spent about a month on the San Diego Chargers’ practice squad before ending the 2016 season on the Giants’ practice squad.
Norwood is getting ready for his 2017 chance with the Giants by “working out, continuing to train, continuing to keep my head high and hope for better things and let God take over.” On Friday, Norwood took a break from training to play in the second annual Hometown NFL Huddle Charity Golf Tournament at Magnolia Grove in Mobile.
Norwood said he doesn’t play a lot of golf, but was glad to help in the fundraiser for the United Way of Southwest Alabama.
