Motivation from the Finest.
Today, ranking 2nd in the world Novak Djokovic from Serbia followed by 12th residing of Spain have teamed up to inspire young adults in which the sport Tennis will be a uprising sport in Taiwan.
The two world ranking athletes have teamed up with a 14-year-old named Lee Ho-chun and 12-year-old Tseng Chun-hsin in a series tie-breaker before the singles match today at the National Taiwan Sport University in Linkou, New Taipei.
“We’re very surprised at how they were hitting the ball,” Djokovic said, encoraging the young players to try their best and to never give up. Almagro also told the players to practice as much as possible. Not only to develop skills when playing but to understand the energy needed for each major event.
Djokovic later defeated Almagro 7-6 (5), 6-4 in a light-hearted singles match in which the two players came up with funny moves including serving four balls at once, hitting the ball while sitting on the floor and spontaneous interactions with the smaller-than- expected crowd.
The two tennis stars arrived in Taiwan a day earlier and Almagro attended a tennis clinic to coach some 20 local young players at a Taipei junior high school.
Almagro will leave for Tokyo for the Rakuten Open, while both Djokovic and Almagro are scheduled to play in the Shanghai ATP Masters 1000 that takes place immediately after the Beijing event.
