Now, lacking an ideal fit on a team-by-team basis sort of defeats the purpose of value in a re-draft, but at least in the case of the New York Giants, there’s an interesting hypothetical argument to be made.
And instead of wide receiver Hakeem Nicks going to Big Blue, Kiper Jr.’s re-mock had General Manager Jerry Reese & Co.
109 overall New York’s actual pick: Hakeem Nicks, WR He doesn’t play a premium position, but Lang has been a good, dependable guard for a good offensive line for a while now, and he won’t turn 28 until September, so there’s plenty of good football (and winning) left for him in Green Bay, where he’s signed through the end of 2016.
Currently in need of a quality guard, Lang would be a tremendous option for the Giants having appeared in 91 games with 66 starts since 2009, but that would really only apply to the 2014 season.
Sure, Lang became a starter in 2011 for the Green Bay Packers and began to reach his ceiling, but would the Giants have defeated the New England Patriots in 2011 without Hakeem Nicks? Tags: Football, Green Bay, Green Bay Packers, Hakeem Nicks, Jerry Reese, New York, New York Giants, NFL, T.J.
