NFL MVP Projection: Oddsmakers make Andy Dalton a top-3 favorite
All 14 players listed above had better preseason odds than Andy Dalton to win the 2015 NFL MVP.
As we head into Week 5, Dalton is now one of the top three favorites to win the 2015 NFL MVP.
Patriots QB Tom Brady: Here’s how ridiculous Brady’s have been this season: The Patriots quarterback didn’t even play last week and he’s still ranked in the top-5 in both passing yards and touchdown passes.
Again, Brady has played just three games while guys like Philip Rivers, Peyton Manning, Cam Newton, Joe Flacco, Andrew Luck and Matt Ryan have played four games — And still haven’t matched Brady’s touchdown numbers.
I’m guessing this Sunday goes something like this: Brady throws six touchdown passes against the Cowboys and then gets a court order against Hardy that forbids him from ever mentioning Brady’s name again or anyone in Brady’s family or anyone Brady’s ever met.
Packers QB Aaron Rodgers: If Rodgers does end up winning the MVP this year, he should probably just give the trophy to James Jones.
Bengals QB Andy Dalton: When you think of Andy Dalton, you probably picture a guy who sits on the bench during games next to his backup quarterback and talks about eye black — And if you do picture that, it’s OK because Dalton actually does that.
I’m not here to talk about Dalton’s eye black habits though, I’m here to talk about a guy who’s, all of the sudden, a very serious MVP candidate.
Through the first four weeks of the season, Dalton has done something that only two other quarterbacks have done since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970: Put up a QB rating of at least 115.0 in his first four games.
We already knew Dalton was an MVP at pop-a-shot and now, it looks like he might end up being an NFL MVP.
