In addition to the homes, it includes a “grassroots-focused” tennis and golf centre with six indoor and six outdoor tennis courts, a six-hole golf course with practice range, mini golf and a 3G multi-sport all-weather pitch.

As result of the feedback, the nine hole golf course was scaled back to a six hole ‘trainer’ course after golf clubs in the area expressed fears it would compete with them.

The spokesman added: “Local communities were concerned about the risk of further future development ‘creepage’ and the Park of Keir partners are keen to enter into discussions with local communities about them taking ownership of residual land for use as a ‘community park’, thereby allaying any such concern.” The tennis coach said: “Park of Keir will make tennis and golf more accessible and affordable for families, and especially for young people.”
