Pennsbury celebrates after blanking CB East for district championship

Now the Falcons head coach, the team had failed to win another district title since that time despite multiple playoff berths in both districts and states.

Behind a pair of second half goals, the Falcons survived a test from second-seeded Central Bucks East to claim the district championship by a 2-0 count in a game played a Council Rock North High School.

There was plenty to celebrate for the Falcons, who came into districts as the top seed and backed up that ranking throughout the tournament.

Through four playoff games thus far, the Falcons have yielded zero goals and scored six, including an overtime winner by Jadyn Peto in the semifinal round against Central Bucks West to send Pennsbury to the title match.


Loving had seven goals in districts prior to playing Pennsbury, which relied on midfielder/forward Meredith Webber to mark her.

It was a good one, which was low and looked headed for the near post to tie the game with about 27 minutes to go, but Kunde came up with a great save to preserve her team’s 1-0 advantage at the time.

The Falcons also sent a shot about two feet over the far crossbar later in the half, and got a shot on goal from sophomore forward Kelly Amador that was easily covered by Patriot goalie Katie Dolf.

Following Kunde’s save on Loving, the Falcons took control of possession and sent several balls in close with chances to add to their advantage.

The Falcons have now accomplished their first two goals of this campaign, namely winning the SOL National and districts.
