Peyton Manning set to retire from NFL on Monday, per report
Peyton Manning will retire after 17 years and 16 seasons in the NFL, according to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen. Manning owns the NFL record for the most career touchdown passes (531) and single-season records for passing yards (5,477) and passing touchdowns (55).
Manning was instrumental in the win, going 25-of-38 passing for 247 yards, one touchdown and one interception against a stout Chicago Bears defense to earn Super Bowl MVP honors.
Manning awarded the franchise by completing a career high 68.6 percent of his passes for 4,659 yards and 37 touchdown pass to 11 interceptions.
The Broncos improved to 13-3 from an 8-8 record the season before, and Manning was named the 2012 NFL Comeback Player of the Year.
The next season, Manning obliterated the record book, passing for a league record 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns on the highest scoring offense in NFL history.
