South Korean Lee Holds Lead Over SoCal Lee at Golf in Carlsbad

South Korean Mirim Lee holds a one-shot lead over LPGA Tour rookie and native Southern Californian Alison Lee entering Sunday’s final round of the $1.7 million Kia Classic at the Aviara Golf Club in Carlsbad.

Mirim Lee began Saturday’s third round tied for the lead with American Morgan Pressel, then shot a six-under-par 66 with seven birdies and a bogey on the par-4 fourth.

“Eventually, I turned my round around,” said Lee, who entered the round tied for third, one shot off the lead.

Lee entered the final round of last week’s JTBC Founders Cup tied for third at 13-under-par, three shots off the lead, then shot a two-over-par 74 to finish in a five-way tie for 24th at 11-under-par 277, 10 shots behind champion Hyo Joo Kim.
