What Is It Like Being A Jazz Nation Fan?
Being a Utah Jazz fan is a beautiful thing and a great honor. An honor that I have had the privilege of enjoying for over thirty-five years.
My biggest enjoyment is when I have attended live games and have witnessed the pure energy and sound that comes forward from over nine-teen thousand individuals in like-minded unison chanting for their team for our Jazz.
People from many different back-grounds. From CEO’s to regular blue collared beer chuggers. From two-year old toddlers to ninety-five-year-old grand-mothers. From Salt-lake city locals to out of towners such as myself who traveled over a hundred and fifty miles to snag a nose-bleed.
I even went to a game one time with a guy who came from Australia just to see what he referred to as “The mighty Jazz.” I didn’t know a thing about him.
I just found out through our contact on-line that he was a fan and was coming to cheer for them. We met up he and I and a cousin of mine before the game and together were able to cheer as one for our team.
It meant nothing that before this shared moment we were complete strangers. Through our love of the game of basketball and our knowledge of the players we supported we felt an immediate connection.
We are soldiers under the banner of Jazz-nation.
A great place to be and somewhere I will continue to visit and one way or another remain a part of.
