Winner of the Australian Wheelchair Tennis National Championships heads to the Australian Open
Australia’s number one seeded wheelchair tennis player and Paralympian Adam Kellerman won the men’s national tennis championship held in Bendigo over the weekend.
“To actually be there and next to the great tennis players and following in the footsteps of great Australian wheelchair tennis players David Hall and Daniela Di Toro just looking to do Australia proud,” Mr Kellerman said.
“In wheelchair tennis, more than able bodied tennis, there’s very quick switches from defence to offence, and I’m always looking to move forward and be aggressive and get to the net,” said Mr Kellerman.
Brenda Tierney, Manager Wheelchair Tennis – Performance at Tennis Australia said it was an opportunity for players from around the country to come together and play against each other.
