Women’s Golf Wins PING ASU Invite
The Wildcats won the tournament by four strokes over runner-up Washington, wrapping the tournament up by shooting a final round score of 277 (-11.) The win marks the second in as many weekends for the UA, as they won the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational last weekend in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Moore won the Hawkeye El Tigre Invitational last weekend, and continued her strong play by finishing tied for second with 14 birdies for the week.
Junior Gigi Stoll finished in the top-10 in both Par-4 scoring average and eagles, rebounding from a rough first two rounds to close out the tournament in 41st place with a final round score of 68 (-4.) Freshman Cecilie Bofill rounded out the team scoring tied for 68th place, while sophomore Sandra Nordaas, who competed as an individual, finished in 53rd place.
The Wildcats as a team finished in the top-five in scoring on Par-3, Par-4 and Par-5 holes, leading the field in Par-5 scoring at 17-under par.
