Corey Baird Has Been Voted MLS Rookie Of The Year

The Stanford product became the third homegrown player to win the award and the first player at the club to do so Real Salt Lake forward Corey Baird has been named the 2018 MLS Rookie of the Year.

Bairds eight goals was the most among MLS rookies and finished tied for third among Salt Lake players behind Damir Kreilach and Albert Rusnak.

The forward becomes the third homegrown player to win Rookie of the Year, following a similar path to Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris, who was also a collegiate national title winner at Stanford and won the award in 2016.
