MSU golf wins Big Ten Match Play tournament

Michigan State’s men’s golf team won the Big Ten Match Play tournament over Northwestern on Saturday in Palm Coast, Florida.

The only win for the Wildcats in the final round came when Pete Griffith won 3-and-2 over MSU’s Gareth Lappin.

MSU also beat Penn State, 5-1, in the Saturday morning round to reach the championship.

“There was a level of comfort out there today,” MSU coach Casey Lubahn said in a release from MSU.
