Santora to continue golf career at Carroll

The 2014 Napa High School graduate and former Santa Rosa Junior College player is committed to practicing and playing as much as he can.

” Santora, 21, said after playing a practice round Friday on the North Course at Silverado Resort and Spa.

Santora, a Napa resident, signed a national letter-of-intent in March to attend Carroll, a member of the Frontier Conference, and play golf for the Saints.

Santora played four years of golf for Napa High and besides earning Most Valuable Player honors his senior season, was a three-time All-MEL player.

He went on to play for Santa Rosa, one of the top community college golf programs in the state.

With Santora in the lineup, the Bear Cubs won the Big 8 Conference title, finished second at the Northern California Regional Championships, and placed third at the California Community College Athletic Association State Championships in 2015.

He took third place at last year’s Santa Rosa City, a Northern California Golf Association event at Bennett Valley Golf Course and Oakmont Golf Course.

He did not play on a team this past year, but has taken classes at Santa Rosa to help in transferring.

Was lucky enough to see him play in person in Northern California a year ago and you could tell he was a leader on his team and had a great temperament on the golf course.

Santora has worked in the golf department at Silverado for the last three years.
