Washington Nationals lead trio of NL teams at the Top.

Now that those postseason pretenders – we mean you, Rangers and Braves – have been sent packing, we present our MLB Playoff Power Rankings and the new boss is, as the song goes, same as the old boss.

The mighty, mighty Nationals lead off our rankings heading into the beginning of the division series, just as they finished our regular season poll ranked No. 1. And yes, that means we think they’re going to win the World Series. It may not be Strasmas, but the Nats will celebrate when it’s all over.

But it won’t be easy to get out of the National League, either. Two other NL teams make up our top three and we don’t get to an AL entry until the Yankees. Amtrak would probably be happy if this means the Yanks will go to the Fall Classic, too.

Does it? We’ll find out soon enough.
